Navnidh, or as we call her Laado, was born on 28th Aug 2007. The exact time of her birth is 9.25 AM.
It was quite funny, we were given a date of 26th Aug 2007 by the doctor and we actually went complaining to her on the 27th that, well, nothing has happened. She did some examination and told us that we need to wait for 10 more days. We came back home pretty gloomy, and called up all family and friends and told them that well, its another week - 10 days before the big date. We had dinner outside that night, and then went to bed around 12.30 AM. I think I had just about fallen asleep when I was woken up by Gurpreet, and she told me that we need to go to the hospital, that she is getting into labour. It took me 5-10 minutes to convince myself that its not a dream.

We rushed to the hospital and reached there around 3AM. No one in the family knew that we were in the hospital. I did feel very lonely that day. Gurpreet was taken to the preperation room, while I did the formalities of the hospital admission. We were at the Apollo Hospital and the entire admission process happened pretty 'aaraam se'.
Now, the wait.
Gurpreet went into labour at around 8 AM and when she was taken into the labour room, I asked the doctor if I could be present inside with her. The doctor looked at me, and asked if I had a strong heart, and that I need to promise her that I wouldnt faint. I told her I wouldnt. I didnt realize why she said that, what did she mean, faint??? I would soon know.
Laado, came to this world at exactly 9.25, after about 1 hour of labour. I was the first one to hold her as the doctor handed her to me first, and I handed her to the paedetrecian. I saw the birth, I saw the pain Gupreet went through, I heard the first cry of the my daughter, I saw how pink she was, I saw how the doctor took out the amniotic fluid which my daughter had in her lungs, I held her within 5 seconds into her coming to the world, I held Gurpreet's hand throughout - It was magical.
